Why look at IRR for savings insurance?
Why look at IRR for savings insurance?
A simple total return divides the gain by total premiums and ignores when the money was paid. The internal rate of return (IRR) accounts for the timing of every premium and the final payout, so it is better for comparing different premium and maturity terms.
Guaranteed vs non-guaranteed
The guaranteed maturity value must come from the insurer’s official benefit illustration. The tool never derives guaranteed figures from an assumed rate and never treats non-guaranteed bonuses as certain.
The scenario return only builds a mathematical illustration of how premium, term and return interact. It is not a quote, a sales recommendation or a bonus forecast.
Method
Both IRRs assume premiums at the start of each month and one maturity payout, with effective annualization: (1 + monthly IRR)^12 − 1. The scenario input is also an effective annual return converted to a monthly rate. Guaranteed values still come only from your policy input.
