Privacy Policy
At ThinkVault Tools, privacy starts with architecture: we do not collect what we do not need. The salary figures, property prices, savings balances, stock holdings, and bill amounts you type into our calculators are processed strictly inside your own device's browser.

1. 100% Client-Side Calculation (Zero Server Storage of Inputs)
When you enter numbers into any calculator on ThinkVault Tools, the math executes locally via JavaScript in your browser. Your financial inputs are never transmitted to our servers or stored in a backend database. To remember your preferred language, default currency, and recently visited tools across sessions, your browser stores lightweight preference keys in local storage (`localStorage` / cookies) on your device, which you can clear at any time. The language preference cookie is named NEXT_LOCALE.
2. Automatically Collected Technical & Analytics Telemetry
Like most web services, our edge network (Cloudflare) and analytics tools collect de-identified technical metadata when a page loads—such as country/region derived from IP address (used to auto-select an appropriate default language and currency), browser type, viewport size, visited URLs, and basic error logs. This aggregated data helps us optimize mobile/desktop responsiveness and fix bugs. The ThinkVault Tools tools site (hkdatalab.com, including the directory, Stock & Investment Tools and finance calculators) uses Google Analytics 4 measurement ID G-VVZ9D844JS, separately from the M6 site. Local and preview environments do not send analytics events.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense) & Cookies
To keep all 37 calculators free without paywalls, we display advertisements via Google AdSense. Google and its certified ad partners may use cookies or web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites and to measure ad performance. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising at any time through Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com).
4. No Sale of Personal Data & Voluntary Email Contact
We never sell, rent, or trade personal data. We only receive personal contact details (such as your name and email address) if you voluntarily email us with a question or bug report, and we use that information solely to reply to and resolve your inquiry.
5. Data Retention & Regional Rights (PDPO, GDPR & CCPA)
Aggregated analytics logs and support emails are retained only as long as necessary for site reliability and support follow-up. Depending on your jurisdiction—including Hong Kong (PDPO), the European Economic Area and UK (GDPR), or California (CCPA)—you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data you have submitted to us, as well as the right to withdraw cookie consent.
6. Consent Management Platform (CMP) Controls
Visitors from regions requiring explicit consent are presented with a standardized Consent Management Platform (CMP) banner upon arrival, allowing granular control over analytics and advertising cookies. Any future updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted directly on this page.
